The Muir-Chase Foundation is honored to support Food Forward. Founded in 2019, this organization aims to fight hunger and prevent food waste by rescuing fresh surplus produce, connecting this abundance with people in need and inspiring others to do the same. Food Forward staff and volunteers recover 500,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables each week from fruit trees, farmers markets, and the Los Angeles Wholesale Produce Market. This produce is donated to 1,800 hunger relief agencies in 8 counties across Southern California.
